Junior left-hander Geoffrey Resney struck out five over six innnings and gave up a single hit as the Hanover Central Wildcats beat Lowell, 5-1.

The game took place on Tuesday April 28 at Lowell High School.

Senior shortstop Dylan Bowen had two RBIs and junior first-baseman Dillon Twiddy went 2-4 with two walks to lead the Wildcats, who had seven hits to the Red Devils’ one.

Freshman left fielder Paulie Hobbs had a triple and freshman second-baseman Zac Alexander had a double and scored a run.

Junior Cai Jaquess pitched a scoreless inning of relief, striking out one.

The Illiana Christian Varsity Vikings won a back-and-forth men’s varsity baseball thriller Friday, walking off the Hanover Central Varsity Wildcats 9-8 in eight innings at Illiana Christian High School. With the score tied at eight in the bottom of the eighth, Nick DeBlock laced an RBI single to end it.
