Oklahoma State Baseball Commit Dylan Bowen drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Hanover Central Wildcats to a 7-1 victory over Portage on Thursday. Bowen launched a grand slam to left field in the third inning and added a sacrifice fly in the second to fuel the offensive showcase.
After Portage scratched across an unearned run in the top of the first, the Wildcats answered immediately. Hanover Central took the lead in the bottom of the second on Bowen’s sacrifice fly and a Geoffrey Resney triple to center, each plating a run. The third inning broke the game open, as the Wildcats sent five runners home behind Bowen’s slam and an RBI single from Dillon Twiddy.
On the mound, Jacob Siska earned the win, allowing just two hits and one unearned run over 5.2 innings while striking out three and walking two. Paulie Hobbs slammed the door with 1.1 scoreless innings of relief, surrendering two hits and fanning three.
Hanover Central pounded out 11 hits on the day. Resney had a team high three hits on four at bats, while Ryan Espinoza added two hits. The Wildcats also turned one double play to seal the win.
