Illiana Christian baseball enters the 2026 season with a veteran-heavy roster, as coach Shane Colvin’s group features nine seniors and a mix of experienced multi-position players expected to anchor the lineup.

The Vikings will rely on versatility throughout the roster, with several players contributing both on the mound and in the field. Seniors Nick Neibert, Caleb Kieft, Jonathan Sitter, Logan VanProoyen, Tanner Post and Micah McGuire all bring pitching experience, giving Illiana Christian depth on the staff and flexibility in game situations.

Positionally, the Vikings have strong coverage across the diamond. Aden Batz and Niko Slavich provide options behind the plate, while Matt Tameling, Hudson Post and Neibert add stability in the middle infield. The outfield group, led by Spencer Bandstra, Connor Krause, Seth Striggow and Nick Deblock, gives the team range and athleticism.

Younger players such as Tyler Hutton, Emmitt Wondaal and Slavich could play key roles as the season progresses, adding depth and energy to a roster built around its senior core. With multiple players capable of handling different roles, Illiana Christian has the experience, balance and depth to compete consistently throughout the season.
