Hanover Central High School’s boys and girls golf teams are preparing for the 2025 season with hopes of strong performances in the Northwest Crossroads Conference and beyond.
The Wildcats return a mix of experienced players and promising newcomers eager to improve their games. Practices have emphasized fundamentals such as swing mechanics, course strategy, and mental focus, essential for success on challenging area courses.
Both teams will face familiar conference rivals, including Munster, Lowell, and Hobart, as well as nonconference opponents in invitational tournaments. The season features nine-hole meets and longer rounds designed to test consistency and resilience.
Captains are expected to lead by example, mentoring younger players and fostering a competitive yet supportive team environment. Coach stresses the importance of adaptability, especially as varying course conditions require strategic shot-making and patience.
With sectional and regional play in sight, Hanover Central golfers aim to qualify individuals and teams for postseason competition. Their goals include improving scoring averages and building confidence round by round.
As the 2025 season unfolds, the Wildcats are focused on steady progress, teamwork, and representing their school with pride on every tee box.
