The Hanover Central Wildcats were defeated 5-0 by the Chesterton Trojans in a non-conference match on Thursday night.
The game was held on October 2, 2025, at Chesterton High School in Chesterton, Indiana.
While the score favored the Trojans, Hanover Central displayed determination and moments of strong play throughout. Senior goalkeeper Layla Nestor made several notable saves to keep the Wildcats competitive. Standout forward Addison Bonner led offensive efforts that nearly penetrated Chesterton’s defense. The Wildcats’ defense, anchored by Julianna Bonato and Gavin Miller, remained solid after an early surge from Chesterton, demonstrating their competitive spirit against one of Indiana’s top-ranked programs. This loss brought Hanover Central’s record to 9-5-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
Hanover Central is set to face Benton Central next on Tuesday, October 7. The Wildcats aim to regain momentum before entering postseason play.
In their previous encounter with Chesterton, Hanover Central lost narrowly with a score of 2-1. However, Thursday’s performance indicated progress and resilience against a formidable Class 3A opponent.
