Hanover Central delivered a strong, competitive performance in a Northwest Crossroads Conference road matchup, coming up just short in a 58–48 loss to Hobart.
The game was played Jan. 16 at Hobart High School, where the Wildcats matched Hobart’s pace and physicality throughout the opening half, staying within striking distance with disciplined defense and unselfish ball movement.
Hanover Central consistently generated quality scoring opportunities and limited second-chance looks, keeping the game tight heading into halftime. The Wildcats battled on the glass, contested shots, and forced turnovers that led to transition chances, allowing them to remain within reach as the game progressed.
Hobart created a brief surge after the break, but Hanover Central responded with composure, executing in the half court and continuing to apply pressure on the defensive end. The Wildcats’ energy and resilience kept the contest competitive into the fourth quarter.
Veteran leadership played a key role, as seniors Langdon Oldenburg, JP Driscoll, Ben Schreiber, Jack Geldmyer and Owen Sosnowski provided stability and intensity on both ends of the floor, helping anchor the team during key stretches.
Up next, Hanover Central returns home to host Morgan Township on Jan. 30 at 7 p.m.
