The Hanover Central boys basketball team is set to begin the 2025–26 season with a fresh approach under the guidance of new head coach Chandler Spring. This follows their successful sectional championship run last year.
The Wildcats are scheduled to play against Westville on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 7 p.m. Central Time.
Spring takes charge of a revamped roster after the graduation of six seniors who were instrumental in last year’s championship victory. “We lost a lot of size and experience,” Spring said. “Now we’ve got a whole new look and a group that’s really grown since the offseason.”
According to Spring, who has extensive coaching experience across Indiana, his program is founded on three core principles: joy, toughness, and togetherness. “We want to find joy in the work, be the toughest team every night, and always come together,” he said.
Senior players Benjamin Schreiber and Langdon Oldenburg are expected to lead the team’s new core after years of practicing against varsity veterans. “We learned so much from competing against those guys,” Schreiber said. Oldenburg emphasized that chemistry and confidence will be crucial as the team adapts to its new identity.
Hanover Central’s next game will be against Lake Central on December 2 at 7 p.m. Central Time.
