The Hanover Central Wildcats, boasting a 15-4 record, are preparing for a significant challenge in the postseason. They will face South Bend St. Joseph in the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Class 2A Boys Soccer State Tournament on Wednesday, October 15, at 6 p.m. The Wildcats have shown a strong combination of offensive balance and defensive discipline this season, scoring 77 goals while allowing just 24.
According to team reports, senior Kevin Otworowski leads the attack with 28 goals, significantly contributing to the Wildcats’ offense throughout the year. Midfielder Owen Furman has added creativity with 13 assists, while Logan Zilz and Gavin Miller have anchored both the midfield and back line. In goal, Owen Sosnowski has maintained a steady presence with a goals-against average of 1.04 over 19 matches.
South Bend St. Joseph enters the matchup with a record of 5-11-3. Despite their record, the Huskies have been competitive late in the season and aim to challenge Hanover’s quick-passing attack.
