Hanover Central High School from Cedar Lake, Indiana, secured a 4-1 victory over Benton Central High School from Oxford, Indiana, in a neutral-site girls soccer match.
The game took place on October 7, 2025, at Kankakee Valley High School in Wheatfield, Indiana.
The Wildcats maintained control of possession for most of the game. They overcame an early deficit and pulled away in the second half. Freshman forward Addison Bonner led Hanover Central with two goals and four total points. Juniors Julianna Bonato and Isabella Sarkey each contributed one goal. The team registered 12 shots and eight steals, demonstrating efficiency in attack and consistency in midfield play.
In goal for Hanover Central was junior Layla Nestor, who played all 80 minutes. She recorded two saves while allowing just one goal. The Wildcats’ defense showed sharpness in the second half by limiting Benton Central’s opportunities and keeping them scoreless after halftime.
Benton Central initially took the lead in the opening period but could not maintain their momentum. They managed only a few quality attempts on goal as Hanover Central’s offense gained stability.
