Hanover Central finishes second at IHSWCA 2A Team State

Hanover Central boys wrestling delivered a strong postseason run Jan.10, finishing as the team runner-up at the IHSWCA Class 2A Team State Championships.

The tournament was held Jan. 10 at Brownsburg High School in Brownsburg, Indiana.

Several wrestlers played key roles in the Wildcats’ run to the state finals. Contributors included Julian Deluna (106), Carter Gary (113), Evan Cryderman (126), Isaiah Buikema (132), Noah Sinnott (138), Carter Hall (144), Joe Paun (150), Israel Sinnott (175), Caleb Chambers (190) and AJ Gill (215), all of whom helped score crucial team points throughout the bracket.

Hanover Central posted several decisive dual victories during the tournament, including wins by scores of 60–14, 44–21 and 43–33, using depth across the lineup and strong performances in the middle and upper weights to separate from much of the field.

Up next, Hanover Central is scheduled to compete at the IHSAA Sectional on Friday, Jan. 31, beginning at 8 a.m. at Crown Point High School.
