Hanover Central girls’ basketball secured a decisive 34-20 victory over Illiana Christian in a nonconference game.
The matchup occurred on December 3 at Hanover Central High School.
According to the game report, the Wildcats established their dominance early with a strong first quarter, utilizing defensive pressure and confident interior play to gain an advantage they maintained throughout the game. Senior players Nadia Paun, B. Oostman, Claire Edgerton, and Sienna Stilley provided leadership and consistent performance on both offense and defense. Junior players Simone Parker, Isabella Sarkey, Kaydence Beach, and Kamryn Anderson contributed to sustaining the team’s pace and intensity during the match. Additionally, underclassmen such as Zoey Morache and Emma Eckart received valuable playing time.
The team continued its effective defensive strategy in the second half, restricting Illiana Christian’s scoring chances and ensuring possession control to secure their win.
Hanover Central is scheduled to face Andrean on December 18.
In their previous encounter last season on December 18, Andrean achieved a 47-39 victory over Hanover Central.
