Hanover Central earned a 45–37 conference road victory over Hobart in girls basketball.
The game was played Jan. 22 at Hobart High School, as the Wildcats rallied after halftime and locked in defensively to secure the win.
After trailing 29–18 at the break, Hanover Central held Hobart to just eight points over the final two quarters, allowing only four points in both the third and fourth periods. Senior Sienna Stilley led all scorers with 15 points and added nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks while shooting 5-for-6 from the field and 5-for-6 at the free-throw line. Junior Simone Parker finished with 10 points, four rebounds and four assists, knocking down two 3-pointers during the Wildcats’ third-quarter surge. Senior B. Oostman contributed eight points and eight rebounds, while juniors Isabella Sarkey and Kaydence Beach each added four points. The defensive efforts of seniors Nadia Paun and Claire Edgerton, along with juniors Kamryn Anderson and Parker, helped force tough shots and limit second-chance opportunities down the stretch.
Up Next Hanover Central will host River Forest on Feb. 6 at 6 p.m.
The last time the two teams met, Hanover Central defeated River Forest 48–26 on Feb. 7, pulling away with balanced scoring and strong defensive pressure.
