Hanover Central is set to commence the 2025–26 boys basketball season with two seasoned players at the forefront as they prepare to host Victory Christian Academy. The Wildcats will rely on Langdon Oldenburg and Benjamin Schreiber, who are entering the year as key figures following the graduation of a significant portion of last season’s sectional championship team.
The opening game is scheduled for Wednesday, November 20, at 6:00 p.m. at Hanover Central High School. The Wildcats will introduce a revamped lineup and coaching staff under head coach Chandler Spring.
Oldenburg and Schreiber attribute their development to practicing over the past three seasons against last year’s experienced core. They Say this experience provided them with valuable repetitions against size, speed, and physical varsity competition. Both players stress the importance of bringing this preparation into leadership roles this winter, focusing on confidence, communication, and maintaining defensive and offensive consistency. They also express confidence in integrating with a new staff while assisting younger players in adapting to the pace of varsity basketball. Oldenburg and Schreiber view improved trust and togetherness as crucial for navigating a competitive conference and upholding the program’s standards.
Following this game, Hanover Central will host Westville on Friday, November 29, at 7:00 p.m. for its second home contest.
