The Hanover Central boys wrestling team is set to commence the 2025–26 season, buoyed by the momentum from last winter’s postseason achievements. The highlight of their previous season was Jayden Bartoszek’s impressive performance, which saw him finish as the runner-up in the 215-pound category at the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) state championship.
According to team sources, the Wildcats are returning with a balanced roster and are keen on developing a competitive lineup across all weight classes. The team’s first event of the year is scheduled for Saturday, November 22, at Calumet New Tech High School. They will participate in the Rolland Beckham Fall Brawl tournament, which offers an early opportunity to evaluate a roster that includes both seasoned returners and younger wrestlers stepping into varsity roles.
Hanover Central’s lineup features athletes such as Julian Deluna (106 pounds), Carter Gary (113 pounds), Evan Cryderman (126 pounds), Isaiah Buikema (132 pounds), Landon Hawkins (132 pounds), Noah Sinnott (138 pounds), Joe Paun (150 pounds), Carter Hall (150 pounds), and Israel Sinnott (165 pounds). The team enters the season with a focus on disciplined mat work, improved transitions, and building depth throughout the lower and middle weights. With experienced wrestlers leading the way, they aim to establish a strong pace before dual-meet competitions begin.
Following this tournament, Hanover Central will travel to Highland High School on Tuesday, November 25, for its first dual meet of the season.
