The Hanover Central girls’ soccer team is set to continue its postseason journey Thursday night, facing Culver Academy in the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Class 2A State Tournament at 6 p.m. on October 16.
According to the tournament schedule, the matchup will be played at a neutral site as part of the Class 2A State Championship bracket. It features two programs coming off strong seasons. The Wildcats enter the contest with a 12–5–1 record, powered by a balanced attack that has produced 49 goals this season while holding opponents to just 25.
Hanover Central has been led offensively by freshman standout Addison Bonner, who has scored 23 goals, and junior Julianna Bonato, who has added three assists and consistent midfield control. Defensively, goalkeeper Layla Nestor has anchored the back line with a 1.57 goals-against average, giving the Wildcats confidence in close matches.
The two teams met earlier this fall on September 27 when Hanover Central earned a decisive 4–1 win over Culver Academies—a performance that showcased the team’s speed, chemistry, and finishing ability.
With momentum on their side and a deep, experienced roster, Hanover Central is looking to carry that same focus into Thursday’s playoff showdown as they aim to advance further in the state tournament.
