Hanover Central rolls past Highland in home opener

Hanover Central Boys Wrestling commenced its season with a commanding victory, defeating Highland 57-14 in a home dual meet.

According to the match report, the Wildcats hosted the event on Tuesday, November 25, taking an early lead through a combination of bonus-point wins and strong performances across their lineup. Hanover Central secured its first victory via forfeit at 106 pounds before Carter Gary extended the lead with a technical fall at 113 pounds. Jack Dietz followed with a decision win at 120 pounds, and Evan Cryderman added to the momentum with a fall at 126 pounds. Additional bonus points were contributed by Isaiah Buikema with a technical fall at 132 pounds and Carter Hall with a pin at 144 pounds.

Joe Paun added another technical fall at 150 pounds, while Aiden See and Israel Sinnott each recorded falls at 165 and 175 pounds respectively. Hanover Central further increased its score with a forfeit win at 190 pounds and an 8-3 decision from AJ Gill at 215 pounds to conclude their scoring. Highland managed three match wins overall, including a heavyweight fall, but Hanover Central maintained control throughout the dual.

The Wildcats are set to continue their early-season schedule with an away matchup against Kankakee Valley on Thursday, December 12.
