Hanover Central junior Evan Cryderman enters the wrestling season as one of the Wildcats’ most experienced and battle-tested athletes, returning with a strong postseason résumé and rising expectations at 132 pounds.
Cryderman, who has competed in the lower weight classes throughout his high school career, begins the year ranked No. 5 in the East Chicago Semi-State and No. 21 in Indiana at his weight. His track record reflects steady progress through the state tournament structure, highlighted by multiple podium finishes at both the sectional and regional levels. Last season, Cryderman placed second at the sectional and advanced to the regional round, where he finished fourth at 126 pounds. As a sophomore in 2024, he earned second place at both the sectional and regional tournaments, showing consistency against some of Northwest Indiana’s toughest competition.
Now competing at 132 pounds, Cryderman brings valuable experience from deep postseason brackets and high-level matchups across the region. His placement history and statewide ranking position him to contend for another extended postseason run as he continues refining his technique and mat strategy.
With Hanover Central aiming to build a strong team presence this winter, Cryderman is expected to play a significant role in the Wildcats’ lineup while pursuing another trip through the state tournament path.
