Hanover Central High School’s girls wrestling team is set to participate in the Highland Girls Wrestling Tournament, marking the beginning of their 2025 season. The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, and will feature a competitive lineup of regional opponents.
The tournament will commence at 9 a.m. at Highland High School, with matches continuing throughout the morning and afternoon across various weight classes.
According to Head Coach Brandon Lopez, the Wildcats aim to build early-season momentum and gain valuable experience in what is considered one of Northwest Indiana’s most competitive girls wrestling tournaments. Hanover Central will face teams from Chesterton, Highland, Boone Grove, Hammond Central, Lafayette Jefferson, Kankakee Valley, and Munster. Lopez emphasizes that the meet presents an opportunity for Hanover’s roster to test its depth and conditioning while setting the tone for the rest of the winter campaign.
Following this tournament, Hanover Central will continue its season with a midweek road meet against Illiana Christian High School on Wednesday, November 26, at 5:30 p.m. CST.
