Hanover Central’s boys wrestling team placed third overall at the 2026 NCC Conference Wrestling Championships, highlighted by four individual champions and a deep group of All-Conference performers.
The conference tournament was held Saturday, Jan. 17, at Lowell High School, Indiana, featuring teams from across the Northwest Crossroads Conference competing for team and individual titles.
Julian DeLuna won the 106-pound title, Carter Gary captured first place at 113, Joe Paun Jr. claimed the championship at 150, and Israel Sinnott secured gold at 175. All four Wildcats earned NCC First Team All-Conference honors with their first-place finishes.
Hanover Central also placed four wrestlers as runners-up, with Carter Hall finishing second at 144, Braulio Corral placing second at 157, Aiden See taking second at 165, and AJ Gill earning second at 215, each receiving NCC Second Team All-Conference recognition. Oliver Garduno added a fourth-place finish at 126 to contribute to the team score.
The combination of four champions and multiple finalists powered the Wildcats to a third-place team finish in a highly competitive conference field.
Up next, Hanover Central will compete in the IHSAA Sectional on Jan. 31 at Crown Point High School, with the tournament scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
