Hanover Central emerged victorious over Valparaiso in a non-conference boys’ soccer match.
The game took place on Monday, September 29, at Hanover Central High School. The Wildcats established an early lead by scoring three goals in the first half while preventing Valparaiso from finding the net. Hanover Central maintained their offensive pressure in the second half, adding three more goals to their tally. Valparaiso responded with two goals after halftime, demonstrating resilience and creating opportunities late in the game, but ultimately could not close the gap.
Freshman K. Otworowski was instrumental for Hanover’s offense, contributing four goals on six attempts. Senior Logan Zilz also added two goals to the scoreboard. Junior Mourice Pena supported the midfield with three assists. Senior goalkeeper Owen Sosnowski played a crucial role in defense, making 13 saves against 17 shots.
Valparaiso showed determination in the second half as they adjusted their strategy to challenge Hanover Central until the game’s conclusion.
