A scoreless pitchers’ duel slips away late as the Hanover Central Wildcats fall to Munster Mustangs by a 5-0 final in Tuesday baseball action.
The baseball game took place on May 5 at Munster High School.
For five innings, Hanover Central matched Munster inning for inning behind a strong outing from starting pitcher Jacob Siska and steady defensive play. The game remained deadlocked until the bottom of the sixth inning, when Munster broke through with a five-run rally fueled by several timely hits.
Nate Southwell and Nick Crowley each delivered RBI singles before Michael Schassburger added the biggest hit of the inning with a two-run single. Danny Bevil later brought home another run on a groundout as Munster seized control late.
Despite the loss, Siska battled through six innings for Hanover Central, allowing five runs — four earned — while striking out three. Paulie Hobbs, Geoffrey Resney, Aidan Creasbaum and Zac Alexander each recorded a hit for the Wildcats, who finished with four hits overall. Munster starter #4 kept Hanover Central off the scoreboard across seven innings, striking out seven while limiting the Wildcats’ scoring opportunities throughout the night.
