The Hanover Central Wildcats emerged victorious against the Illiana Christian Vikings with a score of 34–20 in a girls varsity basketball game held on Wednesday.
The match occurred on December 3 at Hanover Central High School. Hanover Central displayed a strong defensive performance from the outset, preventing Illiana Christian from scoring in the first quarter and establishing a 20–6 lead by halftime. Sienna Stilley, noted for her statistical leadership, was instrumental in maintaining the Wildcats’ advantage throughout the game. Although Illiana Christian improved offensively after halftime, scoring 14 points in the second half, Hanover’s initial lead ensured their victory by a margin of 14 points.
According to upcoming schedules, Hanover Central is set to face Kankakee Valley in a conference matchup on Tuesday, December 9. The Wildcats currently hold an overall record of 3–5, while Kankakee Valley stands at 5–3.
In their last encounter on December 10, 2024, Hanover Central narrowly defeated Kankakee Valley with a score of 38–35 during a home conference game.
