Hanover Central senior outside linebacker Luke Kepler has set ambitious goals for the 2024 season.
“You can always improve in football,” Kepler said. “You can never be good enough. I want to get better at everything — speed, strength, knowledge of the game.” According to Kepler, who has contributed to Hanover’s postseason success over the past three years, his senior year is about setting a precedent for future players. “As seniors, we’ve got to show the younger guys how it’s done,” he said. “We want them to carry on what we leave behind.”
Head coach Tony Bonalerto said that Kepler’s mindset aligns with the program’s core values. “We stress that everyone in the program matters,” Bonalerto said. “Our seniors are doing a great job of making sure the younger players understand that.”
Kepler expressed confidence in the Wildcats’ ability to meet expectations. “We love to see the program keep going and getting better,” he said. “We’ll push into the playoffs and leave things in good hands.”
