Gavin Miller helped lead Hanover Central volleyball’s effort, but the Wildcats fell to Crown Point 3-0 in a nonconference matchup.
The match took place April 15 at Crown Point High School, where the Bulldogs controlled the tempo from the opening set and secured the win with scores of 25-7, 25-14, 25-12.
Hanover Central battled throughout the match but struggled to slow down Crown Point’s balanced and efficient attack. Miller, one of the Wildcats’ top offensive contributors this season, remained a key presence at the net, helping generate scoring opportunities against a disciplined defense. Elio Lopez also contributed on the outside, while middle hitters Greg Sheppard and Brenden Laski worked to establish a presence in both the front row attack and at the block.
Setter Landon Laurinas helped organize the offense, distributing the ball and keeping Hanover Central in rhythm despite consistent pressure from Crown Point. Defensively, libero Vince Teruel anchored the back row, using strong positioning and quick reactions to keep rallies alive and limit extended scoring runs.
Although Hanover Central showed flashes of solid play and effort in each set, early deficits proved difficult to overcome. The Wildcats continued to compete, gaining valuable experience against a strong opponent as they look to improve and build momentum moving forward this season.
