Hanover Central’s season came to an end with a 38-29 loss to Kankakee Valley in a neutral-site playoff matchup.
The game was played Feb. 7 in postseason action, where the Wildcats battled through a tightly contested first half. Hanover Central and Kankakee Valley were tied 9-9 after the first quarter before the Kougars built a 20-15 advantage at halftime. Kankakee Valley extended its lead in the third quarter, outscoring Hanover 13-8 to create separation entering the final period.
Brooklyn Oostman led the Wildcats with seven points and seven rebounds, while Sienna Stilley added six points and six rebounds. Simone Parker contributed five points, and Kaydence Beach finished with three points and seven rebounds. Claire Edgerton added three points, and Nadia Paun and Isabella Sarkey chipped in three and two points, respectively. Hanover shot 11-of-41 from the field and totaled 21 rebounds but was limited by 24 turnovers.
Hanover recorded 13 steals defensively and kept the game within reach entering the fourth quarter, but was unable to generate enough offensive rhythm to overcome the deficit.
The loss marked the final game of the 2025-26 season for Hanover Central as the Wildcats conclude their year in tournament play.
