Hanover Central girls basketball earned a 51-27 victory over River Forest in a neutral-site postseason matchup to continue its tournament run.
The game was played Feb. 6 as part of the IHSAA Class 2A Girls Basketball State Tournament, with Hanover Central competing against River Forest in playoff action.
Hanover Central controlled the game from the opening quarter, building an early lead and steadily extending it with consistent defense and balanced scoring. The Wildcats held River Forest to just two points in the first quarter and five in the second, setting the tone with defensive pressure and strong rebounding. Hanover Central continued to separate after halftime, outscoring River Forest in each of the first three quarters before closing out the win.
Senior Sienna Stilley led the Wildcats with 19 points and 16 rebounds, providing a strong presence on both ends of the floor. Junior Simone Parker added 12 points while connecting on three shots from beyond the arc, helping stretch the defense and create scoring opportunities. Senior B. Oostman contributed nine points and nine rebounds, while senior Claire Edgerton added three points and worked the glass. Junior Kaydence Beach chipped in four points and four rebounds, and junior Kamryn Anderson contributed defensively as part of a complete team effort.
Hanover Central finished with 51 rebounds and 16 steals, using its depth and defensive intensity to secure the playoff win and advance in the postseason.
