Portage Indians fall 51–31 to Hanover Central Wildcats in home non-conference matchup

The Portage High School girls varsity basketball team lost a 51–31 home game to Hanover Central on Friday night.

The meeting occurred on November 14, 2025, at Portage High School in Portage, Indiana. According to the game report, Portage began with a strong performance, securing a 9–7 lead in the first quarter. However, Hanover Central responded by scoring 17 points in both the second and third quarters, which allowed them to take control of the game. The Wildcats’ consistent defensive strategy effectively limited Portage’s scoring opportunities as the match progressed.

Looking ahead, the Portage Indians (1–2) are scheduled to travel to face the South Bend Riley Wildcats (1–0) on Saturday, November 15. The last encounter between these two teams was on November 16, 2024, when South Bend Riley achieved a 39–25 victory on the road.
