Hanover Central seniors Lincoln Zerby and Luke Kepler emphasize their responsibility this season in guiding younger players while upholding the Wildcats’ standard of success.
According to Zerby, “I’m ready to step into that role. I’m ready to show the young guys what it takes and guide this team deep into the playoffs. We’re a brotherhood here. Every time we break the huddle, it’s a brotherhood. We love everyone on this team.”
Kepler shares a similar sentiment regarding leadership, saying, “We’ve got to show the younger guys how it’s done. We want the program to keep going, getting better, and progressing in the playoffs. That’s the legacy we want to leave behind.”
Head coach Tony Bonalerto believes that the seniors’ words will carry weight within the team. “Team chemistry is vital,” he says. “We work on it every day, and these seniors are living that out.”
Zerby further expresses his enthusiasm for leadership: “I can’t wait to be a leader,” he says. “We’re going to set the tone for this year and the years to come.”
