Hanover Central girls basketball earned a 66–45 home nonconference victory over Lake Station Edison.
The game was played Jan. 28 at Hanover Central High School in Cedar Lake, Indiana, where the Wildcats used a decisive middle stretch to take control after a competitive opening quarter.
Lake Station Edison led 15–13 after the first quarter, but Hanover Central responded with a 22–9 second quarter to seize momentum and carried a 35–24 advantage into halftime. The Wildcats continued to separate in the third quarter, outscoring the Fighting Eagles 21–9 to extend the lead to double digits before closing out the win.
Senior Sienna Stilley led Hanover Central with a dominant all-around performance, scoring 32 points while adding 14 rebounds, seven steals and four assists. Seniors B. Oostman and Claire Edgerton combined for 12 points and helped anchor the Wildcats on both ends of the floor, while juniors Simone Parker and Kaydence Beach provided additional scoring and playmaking.
The victory reflected Hanover Central’s balance and depth, as the Wildcats combined defensive pressure with efficient scoring to control the pace and finish strong on their home floor.
