Hanover Central’s varsity softball team enters the new season looking to build on an 18-13 campaign in 2025, when the Wildcats finished 5-7 in Northwest Crossroads Conference play and placed fourth in the league standings.

The season took place during the spring of 2025 in Cedar Lake, Indiana, where Hanover Central went 5-7 at home, 7-5 on the road, and 6-1 at neutral sites.

The Wildcats generated steady offense throughout the year, scoring 238 runs while allowing 146. Hanover Central opened the season with convincing wins over South Newton (13-1), Hobart (13-1), and Manteno (10-0), and later earned a dramatic 6-5 victory in 11 innings against Kankakee Valley. The team also recorded dominant performances such as a 16-1 win over Hammond Morton, a 17-1 victory against Hebron, and an 18-3 result against Kouts. In postseason play, the Wildcats advanced with wins over Illiana Christian, Kankakee Valley, Lowell, Highland, Columbia City, and Western before their run ended with a narrow 5-4 loss to Cathedral.

With last season’s tournament success providing momentum, Hanover Central will look to contend for a higher conference finish this spring. The Wildcats are scheduled to open the 2026 season on the road at Chesterton on April 3 at 5 p.m.
