Hanover Central secured a 4–1 victory over Kankakee Valley in the Class 2A sectional girls’ soccer game on Saturday, demonstrating composure and teamwork from both teams in a competitive match.
The game took place on October 11, 2025, at Wheeler High School in Valparaiso, Indiana. Hanover Central established an early lead with a score of 3–0 in the first half. However, Kankakee Valley responded by scoring in the second half to avoid a shutout.
According to the match details, freshman Madison McNinch led Hanover Central’s offense with two goals. Junior Isabella Sarkey and freshman Addison Bonner each contributed one goal. Junior goalkeeper Layla Nestor made four saves during the match. For Kankakee Valley, sophomore M. Dresbaugh scored the team’s only goal, with senior Olivia Stephens providing strong defensive support as goalkeeper.
Both teams exhibited energy and sportsmanship as they advanced to the sectional stage of their seasons.
