Hanover Central defeated Marist 8–2 in a home non‑conference baseball game.
The battle was played on Wednesday, May 20, at Hanover Central High School.
The Wildcats seized control from the start, plating three runs in the first inning and following with a five‑run outburst in the second to build an 8–0 cushion. Their bats stayed hot early, stringing together timely hits and disciplined at‑bats to put Marist on its heels.
Senior pitcher Paulie Hobbs set the tone on the mound, working six strong innings while allowing just two runs and striking out four. He kept Marist scoreless through five frames before yielding a pair in the sixth. Reliever Isaac Flores closed the door in the seventh, tossing a scoreless inning with one strikeout to secure the win.
Offensively, Hanover Central spread the production across the lineup. Dillon Twiddy powered the attack, going 2‑for‑3 with three RBIs and a walk. Zac Alexander matched him with a 2‑for‑3 day, driving in two runs and reaching base three times. Aidan Creasbaum and Geoffrey Resney each added two hits and an RBI, underscoring the team’s balanced approach.
With 12 hits and steady pitching, Hanover Central showcased both offensive firepower and defensive composure in a convincing victory.
