Hanover Central has established itself as a formidable team in the Northern Crossroads Conference (NCC). The Wildcats are aware that they are now a target for their opponents, who will be eager to challenge them.
“We don’t want to be haunted,” senior linebacker Lincoln Zerby said. “We’re going to be the hunters. We’ll play hard, fast, physical. We’re ready for any challenge.”
According to teammate Luke Kepler, their practice habits prepare them for the pressure of being a top team. “Every day we preach getting one percent better,” he said. “Just keep stacking the days, climbing, and improving. That’s the way we’ll be ready when it matters.”
Head coach Tony Bonalerto expressed confidence in his senior players’ ability to meet these challenges. “They’ve been in championship games every year of their careers,” Bonalerto said. “They know what it takes, and they’re showing the younger players how to handle the expectations.”
The Wildcats view being targeted by other teams as an opportunity for growth and strength. “We love the challenge,” Zerby said. “We want teams to come after us because we’re going to come right back at them.”
