The game was played May 21 at Hanover Central High School, a home tournament contest where the Wildcats built a lead early and held off the Celtics’ late push.
Hanover struck first in the opening inning when Geoffrey Resney’s groundout plated a run. The Wildcats extended their advantage in the second, with senior Dylan Bowen doubling in a run before Creasbaum ripped a triple to drive home two more.
Providence Catholic answered with two runs in the third, but Hanover responded in the fourth with another three‑run frame to restore control. The Celtics added two in the fifth to tighten the score, yet Hanover’s nine‑hit attack and resilient pitching staff kept the visitors from closing the gap further.
