Hanover Central’s boys track and field team recorded a number of competitive performances across sprint, relay, and field events at the Indian Open indoor meet against a deep field of teams.
The meet took place March 7, 2026, at Portage Indoor in Portage, Indiana, on a 200-meter flat track featuring schools from throughout the region.
In the 60-meter dash, Evan Marsiglio led the Wildcats with a 32nd-place finish in 7.41 seconds. Lucas Johnson followed in 44th (7.63), while freshmen Eric Asante (7.77) and Darrae Carter (7.80) also posted solid early-season times. Hanover Central’s relay teams delivered strong efforts, highlighted by a ninth-place finish in the 4×400 relay as Marsiglio, Jackson Barshack, Benjamin Baswell, and William Hernandez combined for a time of 3:53.83. The 4×200 relay team placed 11th in 1:39.78, while the 4×800 relay finished 15th in 10:25.84. The distance medley relay team added a 10th-place performance with a time of 13:41.14.
In field events, Marsiglio led the Wildcats in the long jump with a mark of 19 feet, 1½ inches, and Giovanni LaRock paced the shot put group with a throw of 36 feet, 1¼ inches.
Hanover Central will look to build on these performances as the indoor season continues this spring.
