The Hanover Central Wildcats suffered a 51–28 loss to the Crown Point Bulldogs in a girls varsity basketball non-conference game.
The game took place on January 29, at Crown Point High School.
Hanover Central opened the game slowly, managing only four points in each of the first two quarters. Crown Point’s defense forced turnovers and limited Hanover’s looks, keeping them from finding any offensive rhythm. By halftime, Hanover was already facing a steep uphill climb. The Wildcats showed more fight after the break, scoring nine points in the third quarter.
Hanover’s best stretch came in the fourth quarter, where they put up 11 points. The late push highlighted their resilience, but it wasn’t enough to overcome earlier struggles. Despite flashes of energy, the Wildcats were ultimately outpaced by Crown Point’s consistency.
The Wildcats struggled to generate ball movement, recording only two assists across the entire game. Even with the 30 turnovers, Hanover continued to compete and search for ways to generate offense throughout the night.
On the boards, Hanover was outmatched, pulling down only 21 rebounds compared to Crown Point’s 44. The lack of second-chance opportunities limited their scoring chances, with just four offensive rebounds. Despite the rebounding gap, Hanover showed flashes of defensive effort, collecting eight steals and a block.
The loss marks another learning opportunity for Hanover Central.
