Hanover Central High School’s football team is maintaining its focus on championship contention, with seniors Lincoln Zerby and Luke Kepler expressing their commitment to upholding this tradition.
“We want to drive deep into the playoffs,” Zerby said. “That’s the standard here. Every year we expect to compete.” Kepler emphasized the importance of building a legacy, saying, “We want the program to keep progressing after we leave. We’ll do everything we can to make sure it’s in a better place than when we started.”
According to head coach Tony Bonalerto, the senior players have been instrumental in setting the tone for the team since the offseason. “These kids have been in a championship game every year of high school,” Bonalerto said. “We know the road is tough, but that’s what we sign up for.”
Zerby also highlighted his approach to leadership by demonstrating what it takes to succeed to younger teammates. “We love everyone on this team,” he said. “We’re a brotherhood, and that’s how we play. I can’t wait to lead us this fall.”
